Ricochet vs. Bobby Lashley
Result: Bobby Lashley wins with the Full Nelson
After Ricochet and Cedric Alexander helped Apollo, Ricochet had a surprise match with Bobby Lashley. The speed of Ricochet was giving Lashley some problems early, though it took one good shot for Lashley to get back in it. And The Dominator literally threw Ricochet into the ring and rammed him in the corner with his shoulder.
In this form, Lashley is a man nobody on WWE Raw wants to face, and Ricochet unfortunately ended up in the crosshairs. The One and Only got hit with a nasty delayed vertical suplex from Lashley, but the former North American Champion found a way to kick out. That said, he took even more punishment when MVP smashed Ricochet into the announce desk when the official wasn’t looking.
Lashley used that damage to inflict more punishment, smashing Ricochet around at ringside before turning his focus to dismantling Ricochet inside the ring. Drew McIntyre’s Backlash challenger flipped around Ricochet some more in the ring with his strength, but Ricochet still stayed in it!
It was getting uncomfortable. Lashley was really heeling it up, effortlessly throwing Ricochet around in and out of the ring, even using the ringpost to smash him. And even though he could have won by countout, he broke up the count to keep punishing Ricochet just for having the audacity to save Apollo Crews from an unnecessary beatdown.
Lashley went for a spear to finish it off, but Ricochet couldn’t even stand to take the finisher! So Lashley went for the Full Nelson. Ricochet kept on fighting and countered, though, getting Lashley to the outside. The One and Only briefly had hope for a surprise comeback! He countered Lashley trying to smash him into the ring post!
Ricochet came close to a shocking victory with a moonsault, but Lashley kicked out at two. How the tables turned! Going for the big move, Ricochet wanted to hit a top rope move, but MVP did enough to buy Lashley some time.
In the end, Lashley’s power was too much, as he picked up yet another win with his unyielding Full Nelson finisher. But Ricochet absolutely fought valiantly and caught people by surprise.
To further rub it in, Lashley put the Full Nelson on Cedric Alexander to close the segment.
Grade: B+, I was worried this was going to be a squash win for Bobby Lashley that hurt Ricochet, but Ricochet ended up looking good in this. And Lashley, again, continues to be positioned as one of the top guys on WWE Raw.
