WWE SummerSlam 2022 is in four weeks, and the WWE is still undecided on their top plans for this “premium live event” even though WWE SummerSlam 2022 is supposed to be one of the biggest events on the WWE calendar. The following will provide match card predictions for the potential match card based on the current feuds in WWE. It’s now time to preview and predict the biggest event of the summer: WWE SummerSlam 2022 (a.k.a. WrestleMania Night 3).
WWE SummerSlam 2022 is scheduled to take place on July 30, 2022, live on Peacock. Here are some early match card predictions.
Usos (c) vs. Street Profits vs. Viking Raiders vs. The New Day [Undisputed World Tag Team Championships]
Usos will retain the Undisputed World Tag Team Championships against Street Profits, Viking Raiders, and The New Day in a fatal four-way match to fully solidify the Bloodline as the top faction in the WWE today because they have battled and defeated each of these teams in traditional tag team matches this year yet each of these teams have a legitimate reason for a tag team title rematch.
Street Profits lost to Usos because of a controversial ending, in which Montez Ford’s shoulder was off the mat, at WWE MITB 2022. Viking Raiders never received their tag title opportunity in WWE Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia because Usos attacked them before the title match even began. The New Day lost clean to Usos at Day 1 but will merely be in this match due to their ongoing feud with Viking Raiders and credibility as a tag team.
Prediction: Usos

Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Omos [U.S. Championship]
Omos will dethrone Bobby Lashley because Bobby Lashley is clearly a transitional champion who will inevitably put over Omos in a feud that is far from over. Although this is another WrestleMania rematch, the stakes are much higher with the U.S. Title on the line. Omos has been a dominant force on Raw but has not won a championship that proves his worth as a singles star. Since he is still green and not yet ready for the main event scene, the U.S. Title would be more suitable for his dominant run as he squashes all of the mid-carders in sight.
Prediction: Omos
Ezekiel vs. Kevin Owens [Grudge Match]
Ezekiel will defeat Kevin Owens because he needs payback from his PPV loss at WWE HIAC 2022. He has to establish his nascent gimmick with a PPV victory over Owens, so a SummerSlam babyface payoff moment should be in store for him. While Owens is the true backbone of this storyline, his role, unfortunately, seems to be a ‘hand’ or “utility guy” who is there to put over mid-card and main event babyfaces over on Raw. Hopefully, this feud will officially end once Kevin Owens returns from his minor injury and both superstars can move on to other feuds.
Prediction: Ezekiel
Pat McAfee vs. Happy Corbin [Grudge Match]
Happy Corbin will defeat Pat McAfee because he is a professional wrestler who should not lose in a singles match to a commentator who won’t wrestle in the ring the next night. While McAfee won his match at Mania, Corbin has been building up his character quite gradually in the past few months and has not won on PPV in 2022. Since the blandness of his character is deceptively brilliant, he needs this victory to redeem himself from his plethora of losses to Madcap Moss and gain sufficient momentum that will showcase his superiority in the depleted mid-card vortex.
Prediction: Happy Corbin
Logan Paul vs. The Miz [Grudge Match]
Logan Paul will defeat The Miz because he needs his revenge from The Miz’s post-match attack at WrestleMania after they defeated the Mysterios. Also, he just signed a contract with WWE, so he will obviously win his first match as an official WWE employee (or independent contractor, if there’s even a difference within the confines of WWE nowadays). Paul did an ‘awesome’ job in his tag match with The Miz at Mania, so it will be interesting to see what he can do against The Miz in singles competition at SummerSlam. It will either be a ‘must-see’ or a glorified snooze-fest.
Prediction: Logan Paul
Seth Rollins vs. Riddle [Grudge Match]
Seth Rollins will defeat Riddle because Seth Rollins needs payback for Riddle’s RKO from the top of the ladder at WWE MITB 2022 and needs to break his notorious PPV losing streak. It can be argued that Riddle needs the win more since Rollins rubbed salt in Riddle’s wounds after Riddle lost his tag partner, Randy Orton, and lost to Roman Reigns in the Undisputed World Championship match. However, Rollins is a main event talent who should not lose to everyone on PPV. If he loses to everyone, the value of defeating an established star like him will inevitably diminish.
Prediction: Seth Rollins
Drew McIntyre vs. Sheamus [Grudge Match]
Drew McIntyre will defeat Sheamus because he needs momentum for his future title match with Roman Reigns at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022. It would be completely asinine for Sheamus to stop McIntyre in his tracks one month before his big title match. Although these two have gone to war plenty of times before, their chemistry in the ring together is so profound to the point that they continue to deliver banger after banger after banger. It will be no different at WWE SummerSlam when these two brutally attempt to kick each other’s heads off with their signature maneuvers.
Prediction: Drew McIntyre
Bianca Belair (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Rhea Ripley [Raw Women’s Title]
Bianca Belair will retain the Raw Women’s Title against two top heels Becky Lynch and Rhea Ripley because her second world title reigns needs to be longer than her first. While Becky never got her one on one title rematch for the title since losing at Mania and never got pinned in the triple threat with Asuka at HIAC, Ripley still has a claim for the title after becoming the number one contender and never getting her title match at MITB due to her reported brain injury. Belair should pin Lynch here to fully take her out of the title picture and finish their feud whilst keeping Ripley strong in defeat for a future one-on-one title bout.
Prediction: Bianca Belair
Liv Morgan (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey [SmackDown Women’s Title]
Although Liv Morgan should retain the SmackDown Women’s Title so soon after winning it via her MITB cash in on Ronda at WWE MITB 2022, Charlotte Flair will dethrone Liv Morgan because she needs to win once she returns and stat pad her title reigns. Both Charlotte and Rousey have a reason for a rematch here. Charlotte never got her rematch after losing the title to Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash and Rousey needs her rematch after losing the title to Liv at MITB. It would be a complete waste if Morgan loses just like Nikki ASH did last year, but all logic is defied when Charlotte Flair enters the equation.
Prediction: Charlotte Flair

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar [Undisputed WWE Universal Title: Last Man Standing Match]
Roman Reigns will retain against Brock Lesnar because Roman Reigns will never lose that title and Brock Lesnar was the Plan B option for Randy Orton, who was not going to dethrone Reigns either. This is way too predictable, but what is truly unpredictable as Mr. MITB Austin Theory. Only Vince McMahon knows why Austin Theory, out of all the better options, won the MITB Briefcase even though he’s not ready to dethrone Reigns. However, it seems that the MITB Briefcase will go to waste this year because Theory is on the verge of failing his MITB cash-in.
On Raw last week, Austin Theory mocked John Cena and belittled him for his attire and cheesy catchphrases. It has been heavily rumored that Cena and Theory would feud in the WWE, especially on the road to SummerSlam. However, it has been reported that the match between Cena and Theory was postponed from SummerSlam to WrestleMania 39. It was a good call to postpone the match because Theory was in no way, shape, or form ready for a feud with John Cena as he was still in the early stages of his main roster career as U.S. Champion.
However, just because Cena and Theory are not gonna have a match at SummerSlam does not mean that Cena can’t have a little bit of fun at SummerSlam. Just like Cena screwed Corbin’s MITB cash-in in 2017-2018, Cena can do the same by screwing Theory’s MITB cash-in when Theory attempts to cash in against Reigns after the debilitating Last Man Standing Match. It would be suitable revenge for Cena to do this after Theory mocked him in the backstage area. This would be a sufficient methodology to plant seeds for their WrestleMania bout in 2023.
Prediction: Roman Reigns
