WWE Extreme Rules 2022 is one month from now, and the WWE has not made any matches official for this “premium live event” yet. Since there were eight matches on this year’s SummerSlam and seven matches on this year’s Clash at the Castle, there will likely be seven or eight matches added to this PPV in the upcoming weeks.

The following will provide some extremely early match card predictions post-Clash at the Castle for what should be the most extreme PPV of the year: WWE Extreme Rules 2022.

WWE Extreme Rules 2022 is scheduled to take place on October 8, 2022, live on Peacock. Here are some extremely early match card predictions.

Usos (c) vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn [Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships]

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will dethrone Usos to become the new Undisputed Tag Team Champions because Sami Zayn has been taken for granted and used as an “Honorary Uce” by the Usos and he needs Kevin Owens to help him see the light.

Kevin Owens is not only Sami Zayn’s best friend but he has also feuded with The Bloodline in the past and knows their ways. None of the other tag teams in the division have a better storyline with the Usos than Owens and Zayn. That rumored Kevin Owens push last month will undoubtedly result in a tag title win with Zayn.

Prediction: Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

Raquel Rodriguez & Aliyah (c) vs. Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai [Women’s Tag Team Championships]

Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai will dethrone Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah to become the new Women’s Tag Champs because they should not have lost to the makeshift team of Rodriguez and Aliyah in the main event of Raw last week.

This was a questionable booking decision that hindered the momentum of Damage Control and kickstarted the women’s tag division on the wrong foot. Sky and Kai are clearly the favorites to win the titles, especially since they need to solidify their new, legitimate faction and tease a future feud with the real champions, Sasha Banks and Naomi.

Prediction: Iyo Sky & Dakota Kai

Imperium vs. Brawling Brutes [6-Man Tag Match]

Imperium will defeat Brawling Brutes because they need to solidify their reunited faction. It can be argued that Brawling Brutes should win so that Sheamus earns another IC Title opportunity as a booking methodology to guarantee his Ultimate Grand Slam accomplishment.

However, Gunther is just getting started with his IC Title run and his lackeys could really be a huge boost in the depleted tag team division that desperately needs some fresh talent. Henceforth, a victory here will not only solidify their dominance as a faction but also set them up for tag title opportunities down the line.

Prediction: Imperium

Bobby Lashley (c) vs. AJ Styles vs. Ciampa vs. The Miz [United States Championship]

Bobby Lashley will defeat AJ Styles, Ciampa, and The Miz in a fatal four-way match to retain the United States Championship because he has been feuding with these three superstars in singles and tag matches for the past few weeks on WWE Raw.

Lashley retained his title against Styles and Ciampa, respectively, in singles matches and will retain the title against The Miz inside a steel cage on Raw this week to probably hinder any distractions from the looming Dexter Lumis. Lashley will walk into Survivor Series as the U.S. Champion to battle IC Champion Gunther.

Prediction: Bobby Lashley

Mr. MITB Austin Theory vs. Johnny Gargano [MITB Briefcase]

Johnny Gargano will defeat Austin Theory to win the MITB Briefcase because Gargano is an established main event player who already knows what it takes to be a world champion, as can be indicated by his work in NXT, whilst Theory is not yet ready for that spot so early on in his career.

The fact that Theory is gloating about all his rapid-fire successes at a young age is merely building up to Gargano teaching his former protege a lesson and shutting him up for good. Furthermore, Gargano needs to win his PPV debut and this would be a great start to his main roster career.

Prediction: Johnny Gargano

Seth Rollins vs. Riddle [TLC Match]

Seth Rollins will defeat Riddle in a higher stakes Extreme Rules match to finally put an end to this feud and reestablish his momentum and credibility for a world title opportunity on the road to WrestleMania.

The fact that Riddle grabbed the same steel chair that Rollins used to stab The Shield in the back was not only a sign of his downfall in that match but also a sign that this feud is far from over. It can be argued that Riddle should get a win back here, but 50:50 booking will merely hinder the momentum that Rollins needs after losing so many PPV matches in 2022.

Prediction: Seth Rollins

Liv Morgan (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey [SmackDown Women’s Championship]

Charlotte Flair will dethrone Liv Morgan in a triple threat match with Ronda Rousey to become the new SmackDown Women’s Champion. Although Morgan should retain the SmackDown Women’s Title in a clean title defense so soon after winning it via her MITB cash-in on Ronda at WWE MITB 2022, Charlotte Flair will do what Charlotte Flair wants to do.

She will clearly win her first PPV upon return and stat pad her title reigns. It would be a complete waste if Morgan loses just like Nikki ASH did last year, but all logic is defied when Charlotte enters the equation.

Prediction: Charlotte Flair

Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley [Raw Women’s Championship]

Bianca Belair will defeat Bayley to retain the Raw Women’s Championship because she needs to redeem herself from eating the pinfall to Bayley at Clash at the Castle and she still has unfinished business with other contenders on the Raw roster, such as Rhea Ripley, who has still not yet received her title opportunity after being replaced at WWE MITB 2022. It would be nice for Bayley to win the title as the leader of Damage Control, but it’s not yet time for Belair to lose the title, especially since her first title reign ran too short. She will battle Charlotte at Survivor Series.

Prediction: Bianca Belair

Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross [Extreme Rules Match]

Karrion Kross will defeat Drew McIntyre in the main event of WWE Extreme Rules 2022 because he simply needs to win his PPV debut on the main roster in order to solidify his main event status. Kross has clearly been more obsessed with crushing the world title dreams of Drew McIntyre than actually winning the world title from Roman Reigns.

Nonetheless, this victory over McIntyre will set up Kross for a future world title opportunity whilst McIntyre gets sent back to the upper midcard vortex. In fact, McIntyre is the most likely candidate on SmackDown to dethrone Gunther.

After McIntyre lost to Reigns for the fourth time at Clash at the Castle, his world title dreams are basically over. There is no reason for McIntyre to hinder Kross’ momentum after his own momentum has been completely shut down by Reigns.

Kross will finish the job Reigns started and put McIntyre to rest. The main event scene is eminently boring with Reigns as champion right now, especially since he won’t even be defending the title on PPVs like this one. However, a triple threat amongst Reigns, McIntyre, and Kross will likely be booked for the Crown Jewel show in November.

Prediction: Karrion Kross
