Dean Ambrose defends the WWE World Championship against AJ Styles at Backlash on September 11. It could be the night that Styles wins WWE Title for the first time.

The build up for Ambrose vs. Styles has been a bit weak at this point, but with one more edition of Smackdown before Backlash there’s a chance that the rivalry could become more intense in the next week. When it comes time to do the match it’s likely going to be very good just because of the quality of both performers.

Ambrose has had a good run as WWE Champion, but after an average match against Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam, it may be time for a change. Styles, on the other hand, is on an incredible roll after beating John Cena clean at SummerSlam. It would be foolish for WWE to ignore the momentum that Styles has right now.

There’s no question that WWE has made the right decision by locking in Styles as the challenger to Ambrose’s title. Nobody on Smackdown deserves it more. The question then becomes, should Styles be the next WWE Champion? I think that answer is a definite yes.

Here are five reasons why the “Phenomenal One” AJ Styles should leave Backlash as the WWE Champion.
