The first Smackdown after WrestleMania had a few surprises. What were they? Well continue reading to find out:
***EDITORS NOTE – Sorry for the delay in getting this up. Smackdown was moved from Friday night to Saturday night because of other programming on my local channel.***
The World Heavyweight Champion, Chris Jericho comes to the ring and gloats about how he beat Edge at WrestleMania, claiming he “wrestled a perfect match.” He rants about how “in a cowardly act, Edge attacked him with a spear through the barricade…” He compares Edge to the fans and says that they’re all losers who cut corners!
- Interrupted by Edge. “You make a valid point, me and these people have a lot in common. We enjoyed seeing you get speared… I want a rematch right now!”
- Jericho responds, “I don’t care what you want. You had your chance and you lost… get out of my ring now!”
- Edge attacks Jericho. He rips off the champ’s suit to reveal his injured ribs and he blasts Jericho with a spear.
- As Edge is backing up the ramp, Jack Swagger comes running down and blasts Edge with the Money in the Bank case. He then jumps in the ring and demands a ref to get in the ring because he’s “cashing in!”

QUICK THOUGHTS:
So because of the damn news wires, and WWE taping Smackdown, I heard about Swagger winning the World Title and I really don’t like this idea. It’s too soon for this kid. He’s a decent wrestler at best, and yeah I know he’s got the amateur background, but that’s not pro wrestling style. He’s not overly entertaining, and that damn lisp pissed me off. Listening to Swagger talk is just a notch below having to hear Vickie Guerrero say “EXCUSE ME!” I hope that he’s the transitional champion to put the belt back on Edge. Swagger’s real time will come, but it shouldn’t be now.
Well it’s about time that CM Punk puts his hair on the line to get Mysterio to join the Straightedge Society… Punk needs a shave and a hair cut! He looks like a homeless man! LOL! Seriously, we’ll see where the story goes because I can’t see them putting Rey in their stable, but you never know.
Yay! Khali is leaving! No more silly dancing giant on my screen taking up precious TV time!
Didn’t expect the heel turn by Shad Gaspard this soon. As the match ended in fifteen seconds, I gathered it was coming though. It’s about time though. Shad needs to be a bad ass, and JTG is a good little wrestler so now the persona fits both of them. When it comes down to it, I don’t know how entertaining these two will be in the ring against each other. It could be decent, but it could also be a train wreck!
