Top Ten Greatest WrestleMania Matches (7-5)

When looking at WrestleMania and it’s awesome history. It’s hard to figure out what is the greatest WrestleMania matches of all time. Now everyone has their opinions and this is just mine. Go through my list and then tell me what your’s would be.

7. Kurt Angle Vs. Shawn Michaels WrestleMania 21
Arguably the two greatest nature wrestlers to ever lace up their boots in wrestling. You had the 1996 Olympic gold medalist, taking on “MR. WrestleMania” at WrestleMania. To say Shawn Michaels is a technical wrestlers some would not agree. He is known for his high flyer status and story book telling matches. Kurt Angle is simply smooth in the ring with everything he does while in the ring. Shawn went toe to toe with a technical stance that was not seen since Angle went toe to toe with Chris Benoit at WrestleMania 17. This was a wrestling match, it’s that simple. They wanted to see who was the best in WWE at that time and that was the storyline. Who is better? Let’s find out and they went out a put on a stellar match. One of the best Kurt Angle matches that you will see.

6. The Rock Vs. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin – WrestleMania 17
The Rock vs. “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is a legendary rivalry. Two top guys in their prime in the same company at the same time. They had classics not just at WrestleMania, but at live events everywhere. Out of their three WrestleMania matches WrestleMania 17 was their best. Steve Austin was coming off of neck surgery and just won the Royal Rumble. The Rock was in his the peak of his career and those combinations made for a spectacular match. These two had a special chemistry in the ring that led to countless classics. The Rock brought that “Hollywood” flash to WWE and Steve Austin was the blue collar guy trying to make it through the day. Two completely different personalities colliding over the richest prize in the wrestling business. These two did it all in this match, from a brawl at the beginning and then down to an all out wrestling match. This match was a simple, classic and showed how too in your face personalities should clash.

5. Ricky Steamboat Vs. Randy Savage – WrestleMania 3
Even though they are ninth on the card, they had the longest and the best match of the night. People forget about WrestleMania 3 match of the night due to Hulk Hogan body slamming Andre the Giant in the main event. Well folks go back and watch this. This could be one of the best matches you will ever see. However, it just cracks our top five. Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat who was in the underdog in this match taking on the Intercontinental champion, OH YEAH, Randy “Macho Man” Savage. Up until this point you did not see much of a fast pace, high flying style in these days. Two of the greatest wrestlers to ever step inside the ring tore the house down. Steamboat can go with anyone and Savage met him with everything he had on this given night. At the end of the day, no matter what Savage threw at him there was nothing going to keep the “The Dragon” down. Truly a classic and its number five on my list.
