Daniel Bryan came out and lead some “YES” chants with his wife, Brie Bella, but it was a heartbreaking scene. He was very emotional, and looked up towards the sky a lot, clearly thinking about his father. He also wiped away a few tears.
Stephanie immediately came out and congratulated them. Stephanie also took a shot at Bryan and Brie’s wedding, saying “I saw the pictures online, they were breathtaking, if you’re into that kind of thing.” Stephanie’s wedding present for Bryan was his Extreme Rules match, where he will put his title on the line against Kane. Kane’s music hit and Bryan tried to get Brie out of harm’s way, but Kane attacked from behind. Kane attacked while Stephanie told him to stop. Kane hit Bryan with three Tombstone Piledrivers; one on the floor, one on the steel steps, and one on the announce table, which did not break.
This was clearly meant to get Bryan off TV. Certain parts of the show, specifically the main event, felt as though they were just thrown together, probably because they were supposed to feature Bryan in someway, but, obviously, Bryan had to be with his family.
The interesting part of this segment though, is Stephanie. Her yelling was interpreted as half-hearted, but I believe it was meant to show that Kane had completely lost control. I don’t think Stephanie was sad about Bryan getting beaten down, but it seemed as though she had lost control of Kane and didn’t like it.
