Dolph Ziggler must defend the Intercontinental Championship against Cesaro.

Dolph Ziggler has been in a feud with The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship since the Battleground PPV in July when the former Real World star won the title. Ziggler would then win it from him at SummerSlam, followed by Miz winning it back at Night of Champions, only for Dolph to win it back the night after.

The amount of title changes and, in general, the amount of times these two have been involved in the same match, has caused this feud to become a little stale, even though these two put on solid matches whenever they face off one-on-one.

A feud between Ziggler and Cesaro has been brewing for a few weeks. Cesaro won a battle royal on SmackDown last week to become the #1 contender for the IC Title, but would go onto lose the match against Ziggler later in the night when the referee did not realize that he put a leg on the ropes. This would lead to a triple threat match between them and Miz on Raw that lead to Ziggler retaining. The Swiss Superman did not get pinned, however, so he should still be in the picture.

Putting Cesaro and Ziggler in a match on PPV together would almost guarantee to succeed. After how Sheamus and the former Ring of Honor star performed at NOC last month in their match for the United States Championship, another chance at a title for him is well-deserved. He has easy chemistry with anyone that he faces and is an outstanding wrestler, overall. Ziggler is very good wrestler and a terrific performer too, so they could easily put on a match that could contend for the best one of the year, if given enough time.

If WWE chooses this route, it will guarantee them some quality to Hell in a Cell.
