Rusev needs to defeat Sheamus for the United States Championship.

Since joining the main roster, Rusev has been made out to be this dominant, monster heel. He has crushed any opponent that has come his way. From R-Truth, to Big E, to Jack Swagger and Mark Henry, they all have not stood a chance. Big Show is taking the challenge now of defeating the former Bulgarian, but fans know that he won’t succeed. They are facing off Monday, which will likely end their feud.

Rusev will need to go elsewhere, as he is a near lock to be on the Hell in a Cell PPV. How about facing Sheamus for the United States Championship?

The feud alone would bring some much needed relevancy to the title. Since winning the title in a battle royal earlier this year, Sheamus’ reign hasn’t been memorable at all. He has defended it against Cesaro a few times, but that’s it. A new challenger like Rusev would make plenty of sense. If they do face off, though, he has to win the title from the Celtic Warrior.

Winning the US Title would enhance the anti-America gimmick of the hero of the Russian Federation and Lana. They could brag that they now control the piece of WWE that represents USA and even change the name of the title to the Russian Championship. Whatever they would do with it would immediately make the title more relevant. It doesn’t hurt that Rusev gets a lot of TV time as well.
