2) The Shield
For over a year, Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins wreaked havoc on WWE as The Shield. They made a name for themselves by costing Superstars their respective title matches, conquering whoever was in their way, and even holding gold at one point.
It eventually got the the point when The Shield got positive reactions from the crowd because of how “cool” they were as heels. It was very hard to boo what they were doing at times. WWE must have realized this, so they decided to turn them babyfaces. It seemed unusual at first, but it worked extremely well.

During an episode of Monday Night Raw, Kane was in the ring and conducted an “investigation” on actions involving Daniel Bryan that happened the week before. He would end up calling out Jerry Lawler to come into the ring and accuse him of wrong-doing. Rollins would get on the microphone and eventually say “The Shield always does what’s best for business.” He would then drop the microphone and back up to Ambrose and Reigns. The three then turned their bodies towards Kane, who was still standing behind them. As they began to surround the Director of Operations, he began swinging at them, only to get out-numbered and crushed. The crowd did not go wild at first because no one really expected this, but their two month face run would end up being terrific.
The trio had their second and last WrestleMania match together, as they squashed Kane and the New Age Outlaws. This would eventually lead to a two month feud with the newly reunited Evolution (Minus Ric Flair). It was a hot feud that led to The Shield defeating them at both the Extreme Rules and Payback PPV’s. They got over greatly as top faces and looked to continue that momentum through the summer.
The term “Adapt or Perish” eventually halted that babyface run.
