Edge, Christian, Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury promo
Edge started by apologizing about what happened on Monday, because he feels The Authority returning is his fault. He said that Seth Rollins has a target on his back, and a John Cena-sized missile heading straight for him.
Christian picked up the moody by hyping the vents of the night, and Edge noted that The Authority have no power for the night. They were ready to kick things off, when they were distracted by the limo arrival of…oh, it’s just Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury, and their driver is a slob.
Edge joked about Mercury and Noble’s height, and Christian referred to them as the Geek Squad.
Noble announced that they had a letter to read from The Authority. Mercury, reading the letter on behalf of The Authority, said that The Authority had no knowledge of the planned attack on Edge and Christian, by Rollins and Big Show. Mercury then announced that J & J Security would be presiding over SmackDown, to make sure that things stay in order.
Edge joked that J & J would go up against Ryback, but then made Ryback’s match against Show. Christian apologized, but said that he had to top edge, making Rusev vs. Roman Reigns for the main event.
Noble let them know that they would be watching, and anything they don’t like could go on Edge and Christian’s permanent records. Edge reminded him that he doesn’t work there, and that they may not host anything for a long time, but for tonight, this is their show.
Awesome opening promo. Edge and Christian continued to be hilarious, while Noble and Mercury did their jobs and were complete tools, the perfect comedic foils for Edge and Christian.
