WWE NXT Review: Sami Zayn Returns

Zayn was getting ready to speak, but he got very loud “Ole” chants, and temporarily gave up on talking, so he could run into the crowd and celebrate with them.

Zayn got back in the ring and thanked the crowd, as he got a very loud “You deserve it” chant. He said that him holding that belt means that he proved that he could do it his way, and that he doesn’t have to do something just because “they” say he has to.

He said that it’s not just his title, it’s the crowd’s as well and that they make up a band and they make great music together.

He said that TakeOver ended like he wanted it to, then it changed. He got the chance to hug Kevin Owens, who was quite literally sporting the blood, sweat and tears that it took to get to this position, but then he turned on Zayn, attacked him and left him laying. He was then interrupted by Neville.

Neville came out pretty stone-faced, but he was out to congratulate Zayn on his win. Zayn thanked him, especially after all they’ve been through together. Zayn said he didn’t know every rule in the rule book, but that he’s pretty sure Neville gets a rematch. Zayn started to talk about neither one of them being 100%, but he was interrupted by Regal.

Regal thanked both men for their match at TakeOver, calling the match “one for the ages.” He said he’s proud they are both in NXT, and said that Neville is definitely due a rematch, and that it will take place next week.

Zayn is so over. He was calling his fans a band, and saying they make music together. It was pretty weird but they ate it up because they are so in to him. It’s pretty awesome to see.

I can’t wait to see how their match shakes out. With all the rumors around Zayn’s title reign, this could just be the beginning.

The Vaudevillains backstage

Simon Gotch was doing squats, while Aiden English talked about their NXT Tag Team Championship Match.

English thanked William Regal for doing the right thing and giving them another shot at the title. He said they will have the chance to show the WWE Universe why they should be tag team champions, and why they are so “manly.”

Everything about The Vaudevillains is perfect. They are crushing this gimmick.
