Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins, Brock Lesnar and John Cena promo
Triple H and Stephanie introduced the three participants in the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Triple Threat Match at Royal Rumble, with the highlight being Triple H calling Cena “Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Broken Promises.”
Heyman said he wishes he could take credit for bringing back The Authority, but all the credit has to go to Rollins. Heyman said that he endorsed Rollins’ plan, because it was good for The Authority, which is bad for Cena, which is good for Brock Lesnar, which is best for business.
Rollins noted that it was a “hell of a plan,” but Heyman angrily said he wasn’t done yet. Heyman said that Lesnar conquers anything in his path, including what might be in his way at Royal Rumble.
Heyman said he thinks this match is designed for Lesnar to lose the title by not being involved in the decision.
Rollins said that Lesnar has a long list of accomplishments, and asked if Lesnar can’t win in the Triple Threat. When Heyman went to answer, Rollins said he wasn’t done yet.
Rollins said Lesnar has a long list of accomplishments that he doesn’t have, but that he has a long list of accomplishments that Lesnar doesn’t have.
Lesnar surprisingly grabbed a mic and told Rollins that he conquered The Undertaker, and him (Triple H), and him (Cena).
Cena said that Rollins has awaken The Beast. He said that Lesnar owes Rollins a beating, that he owes Rollins a beating, and that they’re both going to take out Rollins at Royal Rumble, before Cena gives Lesnar a beating and walks out with the title.
Rollins said that he’s beaten Cena before, and he intends to do it again at Royal Rumble, if Cena makes it that far. Rollins swung the briefcase at Cena, but Cena ducked under and fought Rollins into the corner. As Cena battled Rollins, Lesnar came in and hit a German suplex on Cena, then another on Rollins. Cena got up and hit Lesnar with an AA through the table, then Triple H provided a distraction and Rollins took Cena out and hit him with a Curb Stomp.
As Lesnar was recovering, Rollins hit him with a Curb Stomp.
This was a great segment. It was the exclamation point on a great night for Rollins. A star-making performance to recover from that poorly booked opening match.
