#2: Triple H vs. Cactus Jack – Street Fight 2000

Checking in at #2 is for me the most violent match I’ve seen in WWE history.  There was something about this match that seemed that every move each man performed was intended to do serious harm.  Even the punches, the kicks, the elbows, the body slams, and every other everyday move were done with vicious intention.  Some of the highlights of this war include trading barbed wire baseball bat shots, Triple H back dropping Cactus on to the announce table, Cactus with a piledriver through an announce table, Cactus assisting Triple H’s face into a pile of barbed wire, Triple H’s hip lock into the steel steps, and of course Triple H’s relentless, vicious chair shots to a handcuffed Jack.  I can still hear the sound of those shots to this day.

Triple H ended up taking the W after a Pedigree onto a pile of thumb tacks, quite possibly the most violent ending to a match I’ve ever seen.  And this match also proved Hunter’s ability to be the #1 main event heel in the company.  Foley was as brilliant as always and this wasn’t the first or the last time he ended a match full of tacks.  For the hell that these 2 men put each other through over the course of 27 minutes it was outright lunacy that they did it again about 5 weeks later at No Way Out in one of the craziest Hell In A Cell matches of all time.

For anybody who today sees Triple H as a cowardly suit, watch those 2 matches to remember what this guy was really about.
