Seth Rollins, Big Show and Kane vs. John Cena in a 3-on-1 Handicap Match
Rollins teased starting the match, but tagged out to Show before the action started.
Despite getting an early cheap shot, Cena was completely dominated from the jump. Even when he did get an offensive move in, the heels would quickly tag out to a fresh man.
When Cena created some separation between himself and Show, Show tagged out to Rollins, who was the unfortunate recipient of Cena’s comeback.
Cena went for an AA, but J & J pulled Rollins off Cena’s shoulders. Cena then attacked J & J, and Rollins rolled him up for a nearfall.
Cena then hit an AA on Rollins, but Kane pulled him off the cover, and Show speared him.
Cena barely beat the 10-count to save himself from being counted out.
Rollins tagged out to Kane, who hit Cena with a chokeslam, then Rollins called to be tagged in as he looked for a match-ending Curb Stomp.
Then, it happened…
Sting’s face appeared on the TitanTron, and his music hit, as he walked through the curtain out onto the Monday Night Raw stage for the first time.
With Triple H, Show and Kane all preoccupied with Sting, Cena rolled Rollins up for the win.
Cena defeats Rollins, Show and Kane via pinfall.
After the match, Sting left, and Cena escaped through the crowd.
Triple H climbed on the announce table with a mic and lost it. He called for Sting to come back out, but got Lesnar instead.
Lesnar came down and attacked Rollins, but Kane and Show jumped on him. Lesnar hit Kane with an F-5, then went back to Rollins. Show tried to stop him, but he took an F-5, and Rollins and J & J sprinted up the ramp.
What an ending. As a full segment – 4 out of 5 stars.
First, let’s say that the match itself was a very logical 3-on-1 match. It was a complete beat down by the heels, but Cena was saved by a distraction.
Second, it was awesome to get an appearance from Sting. After WWE Survivor Series, it really felt like he belonged here. It provided an appropriate ending to this “fired” storyline, and continued the problems between Sting and Triple H.
Finally, the appearance from Lesnar, which seemed to be booking him as a face, which I’m totally fine with.
All in all, a great final segment in the build to the Rumble.
