Dolph Ziggler vs. Bad News Barrett
Ziggler came out trying to prove something from the jump, but Barrett was able to take advantage of Ziggler’s combination of ring rust and overaggression.
Ziggler had a couple of comeback attempts, but Barrett was able to consistently shut him down, as he worked on Ziggler’s arm.
Ziggler did hit a couple of big moves, like the big DDT, but that arm came back to him and prevented him from really taking advantage.
Barrett got back in control, but finally got back into it when he got out of the way of a charging Barrett, who went shoulder-first into the ring post, then Ziggler followed with a Stinger splash.
Barrett got an opening, and he went for the Bullhammer, but Ziggler countered it with a dropkick, and he immediately followed with a Zig Zag for the win.
Ziggler defeats Barrett via pinfall.
3 out of 5 stars – Pretty good chemistry in this match. They’re both talented guys, but almost nobody can make a crowd feel a match like Ziggler.
Roman Reigns w/ Renee Young
Reigns mocked Big Show for always reminding people that he’s a giant, saying that it proves how insecure that he is. Reigns said he doesn’t want Show’s “spot,” he wants to carve out on his own, and that starts at the Royal Rumble.
Reigns said that he knows he won’t have any friends on Sunday, and that trouble can come from any direction, but that he will be ready for it.
Good promo from Reigns. Nothing corny, nothing lame. He got to show a little personality, and he’s got plenty of that.
Fandango, Rosa Mendes and Dean Ambrose backstage
Fandango was at the Royal Rumble Entrance Number Lottery Ball thing, and he pulled out a number that he was very happy with.
He then proceeded to make out with Rosa Mendes, and while he did so, Ambrose walked up and picked a number of his own, then swapped with Fandango without his knowledge.
Good way to show Fandango and Rosa acting heelish, while Ambrose gets to do some funny anti-hero things.
