Curtis Axel promo

Axel continued to say that he was never eliminated from the Royal Rumble Match. He again pointed to the WrestleMania sign, saying he should be headlining The Show of Shows, until he was interrupted by Dean Ambrose.

Curtis Axel vs. Dean Ambrose

Axel got a few shots in to start the match, but then Ambrose took over, until Axel countered an Irish whip and got himself back in control.

Axel got in a lot of offense on Ambrose, until Ambrose brought out a new variation of the rebound lariat.

There was a fun sequence at the end of the match, when Axel almost hit a Perfect Plex, and Ambrose did hit Dirty Deeds.

Ambrose defeats Axel via pinfall.

3 out of 5 stars – I know Axel is talented, but he still really impressed me here. In the match and the promo.

Bad News Barrett backstage

After the match, Barrett appeared on the Titan Tron. Barrett was debuting a new addition to the gimmick, BNZ, a play on TMZ.

Barrett said that Ambrose will not be getting an Intercontinental Championship Match anytime soon, because he is basically a homeless person.

This was fun stuff from Barrett, who really needed to add something on to the “Bad News” character.
