Who would have thought that a wrestler who worked a masked character for so many years would be this great without his mask on?

Sami Zayn is WWE NXT’s most popular star. He gets terrific reactions because he deserves it. His body language draws a response from the crowd and you cannot forget about his wrestling skills, which are arguably the best in the entire company.

Zayn completed his “road to redemption” story line at R Evolution by defeating Adrian Neville for the NXT Championship. It made for a great story and really put him over more than ever. While he did lose the title to Kevin Owens at NXT Rival, it wasn’t a bad thing. Zayn plays the underdog role tremendously and will likely be boosted by chasing after Owens.

Whenever Zayn gets up to the main roster, he may have an issue. While the former champion is a tall guy, he is not very muscular. This could keep him out of the main event picture in Vince McMahon’s mind, unless the fans pull a Daniel Bryan and cheer him into the endings of shows, which I think is possible. In fact, to say he’s a taller version of Bryan is probably a fair comparison based on the information above.

Verdict: A WWE Universe-pushed main event talent.
