Baron Corbin vs. Tony Briggs

Corbin and Briggs were at a bit of a stalemate to open the match.

At this point, Kevin Owens walked out to the commentary table and stood over Alex Riley.

Shortly after, Corbin took over and hit End of Days.

Corbin defeats Briggs via pinfall.

After the match, Owens took Riley’s water bottle, took a sip, then poured it over Riley’s head. Riley popped out of his seat, while Rich Brennan got out of the way, and Jason Albert held Riley back, as Owens smirked.

Riley and Owens stole the show here. Who is better than Owens? Right now, the answer is nobody.

Sami Zayn cell phone video

Zayn shot the video from Montreal, Canada.

He talked about the changing landscape of NXT. He mentioned the new names, like Solomon Crowe, and the returning names, like Rhyno.

He announced the date, March 1st, saying it was his 13th anniversary in wrestling, and for the first time in his career, he doesn’t feel like he belongs.

CJ Parker, William Regal and Alex Riley backstage

Parker was talking to Regal about something, when Riley stormed in.

Riley immediately quit his job as a commentator and said he wanted Owens. Parker laughed at him and said that Riley doesn’t belong in the ring with Owens.

Riley started to go after Parker at this point, with Parker pointing out that he is the person in NXT who has done the most damage to Owens, the broken nose from Owens’ NXT debut match.

Regal said Riley would have to sign a talent contract, and he would only get a shot at Owens when Regal decided he deserved it. Riley accepted that, and said he would start his road to Owens with a match against Parker.

This was a good promo. I think the crowd could really get behind Riley in this role.
