SmackDown Review: IC Title Picture Intensifies with a Six-Man Tag Team Match

AJ Lee and Paige vs. Cameron and Summer Rae

The Bella Twins were on commentary.

They are rolling with this terrible trio of Summer Rae, Cameron and Eva Marie, who was at ringside. It’s like the 3MB of Divas.

From the jump, Paige and AJ were working very well together. Though, Cameron and Summer worked well together too, as Summer provided a distraction that allowed Cameron to get an advantage on AJ.

After a bit of a beatdown on AJ, Paige got the hot tag and made Summer tap out to the PTO.

Paige and AJ defeat Summer and Cameron via submission.

After the match, Paige and AJ climbed out of the ring and walked in front of the commentary table, giving The Bella Twins some glancing looks, before Nikki said something that set Paige off.

Things didn’t get physical, though, as AJ pulled Paige away, and Brie held Nikki back, while the referee got between the two pairings.

2.5 out of 5 stars – This was a pretty standard Divas match.

The post-match segment really caught my attention, though. I think that this match could really surprise people at WrestleMania.

Mark Henry w/ Renee Young

Henry said he was antagonizing Roman Reigns because he wanted to see what Reigns had. He said he doesn’t know if Reigns will beat Brock Lesnar, but he knows that he can.

Henry looked to be in a lot of pain, as he joked that Reigns is an animal.

Randy Orton sit-down interview w/ Michael Cole

When Cole asked about the night that Seth Rollins put Orton down with an injury, Orton said that he dreamt of coming back and getting his revenge.

Orton said that he’s had blinders on for Rollins, but that he knew he needed to play mind games and gain The Authority’s trust if he wanted to actually get a shot at Rollins.

Cole asked about helping Rollins get a win over Roman Reigns, and Orton said that he used Reigns like he would use anyone else, including his own grandma, to get what he wanted.

Orton said he had Rollins right where he wanted him during the Handicap Match on Raw, and he saw fear in Rollins’ eyes.

Orton said, when he gets to Raw on Monday, he’s going to find Rollins, spit in his face, and challenge him to a match at WrestleMania.

This was a tremendous promo. They’ve done a good job with Orton since his return, and I’m excited to see his match with Rollins. I think it will steal the show.
