He’s the brash champion who never gets a fair shake. And I’ll wager that his bad luck will carry into WrestleMania, where he’ll lose his title.

This is certainly the right decision, Barrett can only take the title so far and a more popular champion will do a lot more for it. But, with that being said, Barrett will likely lose a lot of the traction he’s gained if he loses.

Since his return he has established himself as the perfect heel; he says what people don’t want to hear, he is cocky and he doesn’t respect fans. All of these factors have made his reign a very enjoyable one for observers but the big question is how will he carry that over (credibly) if he loses at the biggest event of the year?

The only way to resurrect his character will be to involve him for a feud for the title following WrestleMania but it’s unlikely that will happen.

So what’s next for Barrett after the match? It’s anyone’s guess.
