6. WrestleMania 8 – Beating the Nature Boy

The Macho Man’s retirement did not last long, as he was eventually reinstated to unleash his frustrations on Jake Roberts and de-fang the Snake. Once that was dealt with, the next threat on the horizon was the long-awaited debut of the Nature Boy Ric Flair in WWE. Already viewed as one of the greatest stars in the history of professional wrestling, Flair became WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble, and began a feud with Savage over a supposed prior relationship with his wife Miss Elizabeth.

This extremely personal rivalry featured a great deal of excellent promo work between two of the most charismatic promo workers of all time, in the build up to their match to WrestleMania 8. This potentially could have been far higher on the list considering their reputations and capability between the ropes, but it was demoted to the mid-card to allow Hulk Hogan and Sid Justice to compete in the main event. Still, it was a great moment to witness two of the greatest performers of all time compete on the Grandest Stage imaginable, and it turned out being Flair’s one showing at WrestleMania for the next decade as both soon jumped ship to WCW.
