Hideo Itami vs. Neville

The crowd was very into this from the start. These two took it slow and set the build for a great match.

Neville toyed with the crowd too for a brief time, which got him a ton of heat. This increased the loud “HI-DE-O” chants.

After getting thrown out of the ring, Neville would return and gain some momentum. He played the heel role well with holds, chops and hard take-downs to build up some support for Itami.

The former KENTA would then begin to gain some ground with quick kicks to get Neville down. He then got the Dragon Sleeper on Neville to pay homage to Tatsumi Fujinami, who was recently inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. This nearly got Itami the win.

Itami then went for the GTS, but the Man That Gravity Forgot got out of it. He then got Itami down and set up the Red Arrow. However, Itami rolled out-of-the-way. This set up a big drop-kick on Neville for the pinfall victory.

Hideo Itami defeats Neville via pinfall to advance to the quarterfinals of the tournament.

3.2 out of 5 stars – Terrific match between these two. They will meet again one day on the main roster and put on a spectacle.
