Goldust

Another veteran with a Hall of Fame worthy career behind him, it is about time that Goldust hangs up his jumpsuit for the final time and take on a role behind the scenes.

The former Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion has been suffering with injuries recently, and it is unknown what place he has on the main roster when he returns to full fitness. His rivalry with brother Stardust which seemed to hold so much promise fell apart almost immediately, and it is hard to envisage who else on the roster he can form a captivating feud with.

It is something of a shame, because these later years of Goldust’s career have produced some of the best work of his entire WWE run, as he has lost weight and become more agile.

He might be a fine wine, but if there is space for new blood from NXT to make it onto the major shows, veterans with little creative direction are likely the ones to lose their spot. Goldust fits into that category, but a man of his experience and creativity will not be away from the company long. Like his late, great father Dusty Rhodes, he will find a welcome place on the production team and support all the young talent coming onto the scene.
