In a sports utopian society, we would praise an athlete for their strong performance or physical stature. Unfortunately, tabloid journalism and unethical participants have tempered our optimism. For example, thanks to Major League Baseball’s Steroid Era, if a player is now on pace to break a record, we assume it’s only a matter of time before that player is found to be taking PEDs.
