Follow along with our coverage of NJPW’s G1 Climax Finals.

This morning was the conclusion of the longest G1 Climax in NJPW’s history of having the event. It has been going since July 20 and featured plenty of great bouts with the promotion’s best wrestlers.

For those who don’t know, the G1 Climax tournament places NJPW wrestlers into two blocks—A and B. From there they compete over a certain amount of time (usually one to two weeks).

A points system determines the winner of each block. A wrestler gets two points for a victory, one point for a draw and zero points for a loss.

Hiroshi Tanahashi won Block A and Shinsuke Nakamura won Block B. They will be competing for an IWGP Heavyweight Championship opportunity at next year’s Wrestle Kingdom event. This is the largest NJPW show of the year.

We will also see some other great matches with Ricochet, The Young Bucks, among others in action.
