Winner-Take-All Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship & United States Championship

Seth Rollins (WWE Champ) vs John Cena (US Champ)

Result: Rollins def. Cena by pinfall to become double champion (Pedigree)

Rating: 4.5 stars out of 5 stars

The match starts with duelling “Let’s Go Cena” and “Cena Sucks” chants from the Brooklyn crowd. Rollins ends up hitting Cena with a hip toss and a dropkick, and then mocks his U Can’t See Me taunt. The amount of negative chants towards Cena seems to be getting to him, and Rollins is in control hitting a series of suicide dives followed by a diving senton over the top. Rollins hits a slingblade in the ring but only gets a two count.

Cena grabs Rollins as he dives off the top rope and goes for a five knuckle shuffle, but gets kicked away by Rollins. Rollins misses a pedigree, and then Cena manages to (barely0 connect with a springboard stunner. Rollins hits a running moonsault to Cena for a two count as well. Rollins sets Cena up on the top rope, forces him into a tree of woe and hits a double foot stomp on him for another two count.

Rollins is firmly in control of Cena, but John Cena catches Rollins with an AA out of instinct! He makes the cover and gets only a two count. Cena then gets a little momentum hitting an electric chair facebuster for another two. Speaking of facebusters, Cena has been protecting his nose all match, holding his hands up to his face to protect his surgically repaired nose. Cena manages to hit a top rope leg drop and only gets a two count, but they’re getting progressively closer and closer.

Cena goes for a super AA off the second rope but Rollins manages to counter it into a corner powerbomb. Rollins goes up to the top rope and hits a Guerrero like frog splash. When he goes for the pin Cena rolls through and tries to hit the AA. Rollins flips out of it, and manages to pick up Cena for an AA of his own. He hits it on the US champ and gets a two count plus a “This is Awesome” chant from the crowd.

Rollins goes to the top rope for the Phoenix Splash but Cena moves. Cena ends up catching Rollins with an STF. Rollins gets out of it and goes for a Pedigree, but misses and after reversing each other’s moves Cena ends up in a Figure Four Leg Lock as an homage to Ric Flair. Rollins manages to roll him over and reverse the pressure, but Cena eventually reaches the ropes.

Cena on one leg manages to make it to the top rope but he gets caught by Rollins with a Superplex that he rolls into a Falcon Arrow. Cena manages to kick out at 2 and 9/10. Rollins goes up top and attempts another Phoenix Splash. Cena has Rollins up for an AA but knocks the ref down. Cena hits the AA but has no ref to make the count.

Cena tries to get Rollins up despite there being no ref, and Rollins hits the same move to Cena that broke his knee before. Jon Stewart comes out from the back and has a steel chair, and he doesn’t know who to hit, but he hits Cena! Rollins hits the Pedigree on the chair, and gets the three count! Rollins is both WWE World Heavyweight Champion and US Champion!

Evan’s Note: That was an incredibly fought match. Both Cena and Rollins pulled out so many moves from their arsenal and had amazingly crisp reversals and counters. The addition of Stewart initially made me groan, but his heel turn and alignment with Rollins by hitting Cena with the chair was a big swerve. We thought there would be a heel turn tonight and we were correct: it was Stewart! An amazing match that continues the series of excellence this weekend.
