The Dudley Boyz Are Back

One of the most surprising comebacks in the recent history of WWE. The most decorated tag team in the history of the company made a shock return on Raw to take out The New Day.

The New Day are doing well at getting the desired reaction from the crowd, this week seeing the addition of Xavier Woods playing his trombone. At the previous night’s SummerSlam show, they won the fatal 4-way match to become 2-time tag champs.

They then defeated the Lucha Dragons on Raw and it looked like business as usual, until this happened:

It was like 2001 all over again. The Dudleys hit all the old favorite moves, including the 3D through a table. The team who took out everyone who challenged them in the original ECW, tore up the then WWF tag division against Edge and Christian and The Hardy Boys, and have held tag team gold a record 24 times are a much needed shot in the arm for a division that has been more than a little bit stale of late, so this return really shakes things up.

A little bit of excitement is whats needed right now. Seeing Bubba make a surprise appearance in the Royal Rumble earlier this year told you that the fans still loved Dudleyville’s favorite sons. After a stint in TNA, which at times saw them get lost in a muddled up company, Bubba Ray and Devon are well and truly back in the big time.

They’ll no doubt go forward to face The New Day and Prime Time Players and i’d love to see them hold the tag belts again. Being a true tag team, rather than a group of men put together as a team, they’ll thrive in the current climate. If you need any evidence, just look at the reaction they received. The games goes for their signature moves, which took out the New Day.
