The Shield takes over WWE as “The Hounds of Justice”
Whether if you believe that CM Punk was the actual idea-maker of The Shield’s creation or not, the debut of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns put the entire WWE on notice at the 2012 Survivor Series pay-per-view.

The trio made their debut during the WWE Championship triple threat main event between Punk, John Cena and Ryback, and left “The Big Guy” motionless as Punk would go on to retain the gold.
In the weeks after Survivor Series, Punk’s long reign as WWE Champion would gain more and more heat, due to interference from The Shield. Rollins, Ambrose and Reigns defeated the likes of Ryback, Sheamus, Chris Jericho, Big Show, Randy Orton, Kane, Daniel Bryan and The Undertaker.
At the 2013 version of Extreme Rules, Ambrose won the United States Championship, while Rollins and Reigns took home the WWE Tag Team titles. It was clear that this group was being pushed towards the top of the company at a rapid pace.
