  1. Triple Threat Match

Three men. One match. One fall to a finish. The Triple Threat Match checks in at number 14 on our list.

The Triple Threat Match is one of the bigger tests a wrestler can go through. Not only do they have one opponent, they have two and they don’t have to be pinned in order to lose. Adding that third competitor brings another element of strategy to the match, making it a tougher task for each wrestler.

From a non-kayfabe standpoint, the wrestling that needs to take place in order to put on a classic triple threat match is remarkable. Superstars need to cycle through their moves, adding in a third competitor to the mix and all three of these personalities need to gel so the match doesn’t feel disjointed and out of sort.

When a championship is on the line, the champion is at a complete disadvantage. There are no count outs or disqualifications, two of the advantages that a champion has when defending their title in a regular match.

While bringing out some great wrestling and spots, the triple threat match just leaves a little bit desired in terms of gimmick and flair. But because of the wrestling ability that it takes to put on a good triple threat match, it has given us some great memories and finds itself at number 14.
