WWE Tag Team Championship Match
New Day (c) vs. Prime Time Players

Result: New Day defeats The Prime Time Players via pinfall to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship.

Rating: 2.6 out of 5 stars

New Day came out first. Come on, WWE. The challengers should be out first.

Kofi Kingston and Darren Young started this match. Young started with a few holds before getting a shoulder tackle for a near-fall. Young then worked on Kofi’s arm before Titus O’Neil and Big E came in.

Big E threw a few punches but got scoop slammed by Titus. PTP would continue working on Big E with chops until the latter hit a belly to belly.

Kofi then came in but got hit in the throat by Titus. Young would get the hot tag and hit multiple punches and a clothesline. He would counter an SOS but Big E tagged in and got hit with a right hand. Xavier Woods then distracted the referee, leading to Kofi and Big E double teaming Young.

We come back to see Young trying to work a comeback against Kofi. However, he got thrown out of the ring and attacked after he touched Woods’ trombone.

In the ring, Young would begin to work a comeback but got taken down by the feet by Kofi. As Kingston jumped off the top rope, he stuck up the knees and hit a hot tag.

Titus came in and hit a flurry of offense on Kofi and Big E. He hit a big boot on Big E, caught Kofi in mid-air and hit three back-breakers. He then slammed Big E to the mat for a near-fall. Titus then hit a spinebuster.

While Titus was distracted with Woods, Big E clubbed him. Kofi and Big E would hit their finisher for the win.

Rob’s Note: Not a bad match. Not a surprise, either, that New Day retained. They will now face the Dudleys at WWE Night of Champions for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
