WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match
Seth Rollins (c) vs. Kane
– If Kane loses, he will no longer be Director of Operations.

Result: Seth Rollins defeats Kane via pinfall to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Rating: 3.1 out of 5 stars

Rollins started yelling at Kane but got hit with a DDT. He hit a leg drop and a big punch on Rollins that knocked him out of the ring.

Kane then pulled off the Spanish announce table cover. Rollins would go for a dive but got punched by Kane and thrown back into the ring.

Kane would pancake Rollins and climb to the top rope. Rollins knocked him off, though. He slammed his head into the turnbuckle and got hit by a diving Rollins.

Rollins would hit a slingblade for a one count. He then pressed Kane’s head with his knee into the ropes and hit a neckbreaker for near-fall.

Rollins would hit a few kicks to the chest and the face of Kane. Kane would counter with a big punch, though. Rollins would throw him into the turnbuckle and attack the legs. Rollins caught him with a forearm and dropped him into the turnbuckle. Kane then hit a big punch as Rollins climbed to the top rope. Kane would meet him up there and hit a superplex.

Kane began hitting running clotheslines and a big boot for a near-fall. Rollins then met Kane at the top rope but got pushed off. Kane attacked him and went for a chokeslam. Rollins broke out of it with an enziguri but got back body dropped. Kane hit a big chokeslam for a near-fall.

Kane would go for the Tombstone but Rollins countered and got away. Outside the ring, Kane would sideslam Rollins onto the announce table. He then cleared off the table.

Rollins would get thrown over the announce table. Kane would climb up and go for the chokeslam. However, Rollins countered and powerbombed Kane onto the table. The table didn’t budge, though.

Kane would get back in before the 10-count.

Rollins would go for the Pedigree but Kane countered. Rollins countered with a kick to the back of the head and hit a knee to the side of the face. He then went back to the top rope and hit it again. Rollins hit two kicks to Kane’s head and climbed back to the top rope. He hit a Frog Splash for a near-fall.

Kane would grab Rollins by the throat but got countered. Rollins hit the Pedigree for the win.

Rob’s Note: Not a bad match at all. Glad my prediction of a DQ finish did not happen. Kane is now out as Director of Operations, so the fallout going forward will be interesting.
