Cesaro with Triple H

Cesaro says Triple H can save whatever he plans on saying. Trips says he wants Cesaro to understand what’s at stake tonight. He says he’s seen too many guys like Cesaro not follow through. He feels this may be Cesaro’s time to “grab that brass ring.” Trips says he will be sitting in his own personal Cesaro Section watching his match.

Before the match, Reigns says it’s been a wild ride to get to Survivor Series. He says he earned the right to face Seth Rollins for the title but the injury halted that. He brings up Triple H’s words from last week and said he thought about it. He says he declined because he doesn’t sell out. Reigns says this ride ends with him as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Roman Reigns vs. Cesaro

Result: Roman Reigns defeats Cesaro via pinfall to advance to the semifinals at WWE Survivor Series.

Reigns and Cesaro began with a long hold until Cesaro teased hitting an uppercut and backed off.

Cesaro and Reigns traded holds until the latter backed out of it. Cesaro got a head scissors on Reigns until both men powered out.

Cesaro would go for a pin but be unsuccessful. He would hit a boot on Reigns, go to the top rope and roll up Roman for a near-fall. Reigns would go for one of his own. Cesaro hit a side head lock take down.

Cesaro would pick up Reigns for a gut wrench suplex for a near-fall.

The Swiss Superman would go for a suplex but Reigns blocked it. Cesaro then hit an elbow but got hit with a tilt-a-whirl slam for a near-fall.

Reigns began whipping Cesaro into the turnbuckles. Cesaro then hit a flying uppercut off the second rope to take Reigns down. He then called for the Swing but Reigns got out of it.

Reigns would go shoulder-first into the post and Cesaro drove him back into it. Outside the ring, Cesaro would hit a big uppercut on Reigns outside the ring.

We come back to see Cesaro in control of Reigns in the ring. Reigns swung Cesaro away but got sent out of the ring. As Cesaro charged after him, Reigns hit a big boot.

In the ring, Reigns hit four kicks to the gut and a big clothesline. Cesaro came back with multiple uppercuts and began another train of them across the ring. Reigns would counter the last one with multiple punches. Cesaro briefly fought back but got suplexed. As he lay on the bottom rope, Reigns went for the drive-by kick. However, Cesaro avoided it and hit the swing!

Cesaro went for the Sharpshooter and locked it in. As Reigns went for the ropes, Cesaro grabbed the arm for a cross-face and locked him in. Reigns would power out, though, and hit a Samoan Drop for a near-fall.

Cesaro would get launched over the top rope but his injured arm hit the apron, causing a lot of pain. Reigns then hit the drive-by kick outside the ring. He followed this with a Superman Punch and multiple blows. Reigns then planted Cesaro with a powerbomb for a near-fall.

Reigns would go for another Superman Punch but Cesaro hit a huge uppercut for a near-fall. Cesaro then got Reigns off the top rope.

Cesaro would go to the second rope while Reigns was on the apron and attempt a suplex. However, Reigns hit a Superman Punch.

As Reigns went for the Spear, Cesaro went for the Neutralizer but Reigns countered. He hit the Superman Punch and Spear for the win.

Rob’s Note: That was an excellent match. Cesaro and Reigns put on a show. Fans will be upset (maybe with good reason) but this is the direction WWE is going in. Reigns is going to the top and will likely take the title at Survivor Series.

Where Cesaro goes is a mystery. He continues to put on terrific performances but gets no push as a result. He was pulled from a feud with Stardust, which benefits everyone involved. However, what do you do with the guy?
