First off, and most obviously, they had to have some semblance of popularity with the crowd at the time they were formed, if people didn’t think it was a big deal back then, why should we now? Next, we will consider how their careers ended up; did they all become champions, or even better, Hall of Famers?
Since this goes back to 1987, there are plenty of teams to pick from, and narrowing it down to ten, was fairly easy. Getting it to five was quite difficult, so I wanted to list out a few honorable mentions.
Starting with Steve Austin, Booker T, Rob Van Dam, Kurt Angle and Shane McMahon, this amazing group was on the losing side of one of the best Survivor Series matches ever in 2001. In 2005, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, JBL, Batista and Bobby Lashley got together to pull out a win with Orton as the sole survivor. Finally, have to give a tip of the cap to Eddie Guerrero, John Cena, Big Show and Rob Van Dam who were able to dominate in 2004, with only RVD getting eliminated.
So, there are the groups that just missed the cut, let’s get right to number five!
