WWE Survivor Series: Ranking the 10 Greatest Matches

9) The Rockers, the Hart Foundation, the British Bulldogs, the Powers of Pain and the Young Stallions vs. Demolition, the Brainbusters, the Bolsheviks, the Conquistadors and the Fabulous Rougeaus (1988)
Before the first ever Ironman match at WrestleMania XII that would take place about eight years later, this was one of the longest matches of that time that lasted 42 minutes after featured a total of 20 different superstars that surrounded the ring simultaneously. This was something very unique at this time in professional wrestling as definitely caught the fans’ eye.
It was a match that had so much star power in one ring that basically featured the entire tag team division at the time in one ring; back during a time in professional wrestling where the same two or three teams were always in the championship picture and there were multiple storylines throughout all the tag teams to rival the tales of the singles divisions.
Similar to how a five-on-five match would work, it was essentially five babyface tag teams against five heel tag teams where teams were eliminated when one of the two were pinned, tapped out or counted out. In the end of the very long tag team match, the Powers of Pain (the Barbarian and the Warlord) were the lone survivors and that was the start of a push to eventually defeat Demolition for the Tag Team Championship months later at WrestleMania V.
This match gets a spot on this list because it is highly unlikely we will ever see a 20-superstar match like this because I don’t believe the WWE would have enough tag teams unless everyone from NXT got called up for the special one night event. To expect that would be assuming the WWE creative team can map out a good storyline to set up such a match.
