Kevin Owens defended his Intercontinental championship against the unhinged Dean Ambrose at WWE TLC! Did Owens manage to retain the gold?
Is there anything more behind the Dean Ambrose/Kevin Owens feud than a little popcorn to the face for WWE TLC? Not really, but there doesn’t need to be. Their interactions in the ring have mostly come in tag matches but in each case an intriguing rivalry has been set up for Owens’ Intercontinental Title. Will the prize fighter be able to hold off the maniacal “Lunatic Fringe”?

Travis’ Thoughts: As expected, this was a strong match between two of WWE’s top performers. While the match didn’t get much in storyline support, Owens and Ambrose told their own story with the cocky champion defending against an opponent literally capable of anything. The ending came out of nowhere, but it’s hard to argue the result isn’t at least interesting. This loss could free Owens up for that rumored feud against Brock Lesnar, while Ambrose holding gold could be fuel for a heel turn by his best friend, Roman Reigns.
