Dean Ambrose vs. Kevin Owens (Intercontinental Title Match)

Owens vs. Ambrose is a feud that could really have legs, if WWE decides to let them run with it. In what should be a familiar trend by now, the build-up for these two wasn’t exactly the best, although Dean throwing the soda and popcorn in Owens’ face was quality. Both of these guys are on an elite level when it comes to mic work, and should be given more time to build that tension between the two.

This match lasted just under ten minutes, but the crowd was hot for the match, fully supporting Ambrose along the way. I was actually surprised at how well their two styles worked together, Dean’s scrappy brawling abilities meshed quite nicely with Owens creative moveset. I think part of the reason this match landed at number three was the surprise clean finish with Ambrose winning. I thought for sure it would end in some kind of disqualification, but much to the live crowd’s delight, Ambrose picked up the win and the title.

Most likely, these two will have a rematch in the near future, and then it will be interesting to see where Owens goes. He could easily fall to the midcard morass, or some have theorized, that he’s actually in store for a big push, possibly winning the Royal Rumble and getting a match at WrestleMania. Not sure which way he will go, but at least we have some interesting stories slowly building.

Watch this match, it’s fairly short, with a fun ending.
