Apollo Crews vs. Baron Corbin

Result: Baron Corbin defeats Apollo Crews via pinfall.

Rating: 3.2 out of 5 stars

Corbin and Crews began with a quick lockup. Corbin would push him into the corner, but Crews responded with a shoulder tackle.

Crews hit multiple shoulders to the gut but Corbin hit a knee to the face. Corbin hit a shoulder tackle but got hit by a dropkick from Crews. Corbin would toss Crews out of the ring and plant him on the steel steps. Corbin would begin taunting Crews as he laid outside the ring.

In the ring, Corbin continued the assault with methodical takedowns. He took down Crews again and received some vicious chants. He continued the forearms until Crews worked back with a punch. He went to the top rope but got caught. Crews turned it into a small package for a near-fall.

Corbin would Irish Whip him into the corner. He then hit a backbreaker on Crews and put on a hold. Crews hit a few knees to the head but Corbin hit a few of his own. Corbin then got sent to the outside.

When he got back in, Crews took him down and hit multiple right hands. Outside the ring they did the same. Crews then lined up on the apron and hit a moonsault onto Corbin.

In the ring. Crews hit multiple clotheslines, but Corbin hit a swinging slam for a near-fall.

Crews would go for the End of Days but reverse and hit an enziguri. He hit the standing moonsault onto Corbin for a near-fall.

Corbin and Crews began exchanging right hands. Crews then picked up Corbin but got reversed into the End of Days for the win.

Rob’s Note: Interesting finish here. This must mean Corbin is going to go into the NXT Championship hunt after NXT TakeOver: London. Could this mean Balor is retaining later?
