NXT TakeOver: London Results: Bayley vs. Nia Jax Video Highlights

It’s a David vs. Goliath match as NXT Women’s champion Bayley put her title on the line against Nia Jax at NXT TakeOver: London!

After finally earning the NXT Women’s Championship in an epic showdown with Sasha Banks, Bayley has been a fighting champion. In a short amount of time she’s faced the threat of Alexa Bliss and Eva Marie, but her greatest test is now as she takes on the dangerous, and much larger, Nia Jax. Jax entered the title picture as Eva Marie’s bruiser, but she quickly put that aside for a shot at the gold herself.  After intimidating Bayley, then throwing her against a wall, Jax is poised for her first NXT championship. Will Bayley be able to hug her way to victory?

And here comes the most huggable NXT champion ever, Bayley!  The crowd loves her!

Somebody could give a crap about the fun Bayley’s having during her entrance…

First they sang for Big Cass and Enzo, now the crowd has some sweet sounds for Bayley.

Bayley’s not letting Nia Jax’s size slow her down, beginning by taking the fight right to her. But Jax’s power eventually takes over, hitting her with a devastating  shoulder breaker, and literally flinging Bayley around like a rag doll.

Despite the size mismatch, Bayley stays on the offense, hitting Jax with a dropkick and flying back elbow that can’t knock the big woman down!

Bayley finally knocks Jax off her feet and nails her with a senton bomb, but is launched out of the ring by a huge kick-out!  Jax then began to dominate, hitting Bayley with not one, not two, but three straight Samoa Drops!

Leg drop after lego drop after leg drop, Jax is asserting her incredible will over the champion, but she just can’t get the three count! Bayley won’t stop fighting!

The vicious beating being laid on Bayley has the referee close to throwing in the towel. But then out of nowhere Bayley is back with a nasty guillotine!

The comeback is short-lived, but Bayley won’t give up on that guillotine and Jax is feeling it, especially when the champ starts to wrench down!

Finally, after holding Jax in that guillotine for what seemed like an eternity, Bayley was able to force her to tap out for the win!

Travis’ Thoughts: Another fantastic, smartly-wrestled match by Bayley. This match told exactly the right story with the undersized champion having to overcome the might of her larger opponent. Bayley’s earlier attempts at taking the fight to Nia Jax were unsuccessful, and it was persistence that got her the win. Jax is still very green, but she showed good power and looked like a force to be reckoned with. She doesn’t lose anything in defeat. In fact, the next time these two face one another the results will likely be very different.
