Dolph Ziggler vs. Kevin Owens

Result: Dolph Ziggler defeated Kevin Owens via DQ.

Rating: 3.0 out of 5 stars

Kevin Owens comes out strong in this one, being the aggressor early on against Ziggler. Dolph does get in some offense but every shot he lands, Owens comes with 2 more. Things spill to the outside where Ziggler hits a zig-zag as we go to break.

We come back and Owens has the sleeper hold on Ziggler, but the leader of the DZ Cru fights out of it and goes for the school boy pin. Ziegler hits a few trademark moves and goes for the super kick but Owens is able to reverse it into a belly to belly duplex. After another suplex Owens NAILS Ziggler with the running cannonball in the corner. Owens goes for the pump up power bomb, but after a series of reversals Ziggler finally nails the super kick but only gets two.

Things spill out to the outside where Owens goes heavy on the offense, having to be held by the referee numerous times. He is about to lay Ziggler out with a power bomb on the ropes, but Dean Ambrose comes out and tangles with Owens and almost hitting Dirty Deeds but Owens escapes.

Before the show ends, Owens gets one last cheap shot on Ziggler and after he leaves Ziggler superkicks Ambrose (thinking he’s Owens) as SmackDown goes off the air.

DJ’s Note: Not a bad ending to a pretty decent SmackDown, nothing like Monday’s Raw but this show helped further storylines. Interesting that Reigns didn’t appear after the first segment, forgot that we hadn’t seen him up until the last match. The Tag Team Title Match on next week’s live Smackdown should be fun, as should the Triple Threat Intercontinental Championship match between Owens, Ziggler and Ambrose at the Royal Rumble.
