3) CM Punk – WrestleMania 29 (2013)

While his name might be considered more of a curse word since his departure in 2014 and then the subsequent podcasts with his good friend Colt Cabana, there’s no denying that CM Punk was able to properly claim the title of “Best in the World” in 2012 and 2013.

After having one of the most impressive and lengthy reigns as WWE Champion in decades, Punk would find himself challenging the Undertaker. In Punk-like fashion, he would attempt to play mind games of his own by getting his hands on the urn that was once held by Bearer. It was only weeks after the passing of Bearer where Punk would cut promos about him while playing with the urn like a football.

The two were great strikers and the match was something out of a fantasy booker’s notebook. Once again, Punk showed why he belonged within the top-tier talent in the WWE; including Punk delivering a Macho Man style elbow drop to Undertaker who laid on an announce table. The urn was also used in the match, allegedly containing the ashes of Bearer in a heel move.

Despite showing he belonged in WWE’s top-tier, Punk would lose to the Deadman shortly after he sat up from Punk’s Cobra Clutch and would rally to get the win to extend his streak to 21-0 after 22 minutes.
