Find out who won when Bayley defended the NXT Women’s Championship against Asuka at NXT TakeOver: Dallas.
Since winning the NXT Women’s Championship at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, Bayley has been a fighting champion. After a successful title defense against Carmella, Nia Jax and Eva Marie attacked both Bayley and Carmella – leading Asuka to come out and make the save.
However, Asuka made it clear she was interested in the NXT Women’s Championship as well. Several weeks ago, General Manager William Regal made it official – Asuka was the number one contender, and she would get her title match at NXT TakeOver: Dallas.

Bayley eventually took control, hitting a diving spinning elbow off the ropes. She followed up with a crossbody splash from the opposite corner.
Always dangerous with the submission holds, Asuka locked in an armbar, but Bayley managed to get to the ropes before too much damage was done.

Asuka kept the momentum going with attacks in the corner, but Bayley countered with a tree of woe. The champ used the ropes for additional leverage to drop an elbow on Asuka.

Asuka eventually went for her signature Asuka Lock, but Bayley kept blocking it and reaching for the ropes. On her last attempt, Asuka threw her to the ground and locked in the hold – and kept it on for well over a minute, with Bayley refusing to give up. However, her body was weaker than her spirit, as she passed out before escaping, forcing the referee to stop the match and award the victory – and the NXT Women’s Championship – to Asuka.
