WWE WrestleMania 32 Results: AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho Video Highlights

AJ Styles and Chris Jericho went into battle at WrestleMania, here’s what happened.

In recent months, Chris Jericho has found AJ Styles as a thorn in his side. Jericho has become unhappy with the fans backing Styles and turning against the man who was the first ever Undisputed WWE Champion. They have faced each other in three big matches, on Raw, SmackDown and at Fastlane where Jericho emerged with the upper hand, but we now find the two men in what could turn out to be their final battle.

Styles was making his first WrestleMania appearance, against a man who has made the Grandaddy of the all his home during his WWE career.

After an epic promo video, Jericho is first to enter the AT&T Stadium. Styles enters next, making his WrestleMania debut and soaks in the crowd for a few seconds on the ramp. This match could very easily steal the show tonight. The crowd rains down the AJ Styles chant as the two men lock up, Jericho gets the better of Styles and receives massive boos. A quick clothesline from Styles takes Jericho to the outside. Jericho has a mini tantrum at ringside before Styles knocks him down back in the ring. Styles ups the pace and takes control of the match.

The pair exchange chops and Jericho ends up out on the floor, Styles dives over the top rope and eats a dropkick from Jericho. Jericho works over Styles’ neck over the ropes before hitting a flying elbow from the top rope. Jericho plays to the crowd before locking in a sleeper hold. Styles counters into a kick attempt but Jericho reverses into the Walls of Jericho. Styles manages to get to the ropes to break the hold. Styles recovers to get a two count. Styles manages to counter a bulldog attempt to throw Jericho into the turnbuckle.

On the top rope, Jericho slaps Styles before the debutant hits a face first suplex from the top rope. Jericho dodges a Pele Kick and turns it into the Walls of Jericho again, as Jericho screams “Give up Styles”. Styles manages to reverse into the Calf Crusher, after a minute or so Jericho reverses into a pin attempt. Styles teases the Styles Clash but ends up on the apron. Styles misses the Phenomenal Forearm into a Codebreaker for a two that looked like a three count.

Jericho was increasingly frustrated and looked to take advantage with a Styles Clash of his own. Styles hit a big slam to again get a two count. They engaged in a few reversals before Styles hit the Styles Clash to a massive pop, Jericho managed to kick out, though. Both men had kicked out of the others finisher. Styles took Jericho down with forearm strikes, before eating a kick to the face. Styles got his knees up as Jericho went for the Lion Tamer. Styles hit a diving splash off the ropes but couldn’t get the win.

Styles got all the fans in the crowd on their feet, he went for the Phenomenal Forearm again, Jericho pulled the referee in front of him and reversed it into the Code Breaker for the 1,2,3 and the win. Chris Jericho beats the debuting AJ Styles.
