WWE Payback 2016 Results: Chris Jericho vs. Dean Ambrose Video Highlights
With his legendary reputation on the line, Chris Jericho faced Dean Ambrose at WWE Payback.
So what are Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose feuding about heading into their match at Payback? A talk show. Not the most compelling reason for two guys to fight, but it’s what we’ve got and at least it’s these guys who promise to put on a good show.
Forget that Ambrose hasn’t liked Jericho since they teamed together against the Wyatts at Night of Champions last year. The last few weeks have been a clash of egos as Jericho saw his show the Highlight Reel canceled by Shane McMahon in favor of the Ambrose Asylum. Maybe this should have been a “TV Show on a Pole” match? The two have been exchanging words and destroying potted plants ever since. Y2J locked Ambrose in the “Walls of Jericho” on top of the announce table, leading up to tonight!

Y2J was the first one out, lighting up the arena with that jacket Ambrose hates so much. How old is that thing?
And here comes the Lunatic Fringe, looking more serious than we’ve seen him in a long time.
The match started with the two hated foes exchanging blows back and forth until Ambrose took a nasty tumble to the outside, which Y2J was quick to follow up on.
That gave Y2J the upper hand, and he refused to let Ambrose back in the ring! Springboard dropkick!
After a filed attempt at “Dirty Deeds”, Ambrose finally got the upper hand with this slick reversal into a neckbreaker. But he can’t seem to put Y2J away.
Lunatic Dive to the outside!!
This has been a back-and-forth match since the opening bell, with both superstars attempting their big moves, but failing to hit them more often than not. A failed superplex led to an attempt at Dirty Deeds, only to have Y2J reverse it into the Wall of Jericho!
Ambrose would mount a comeback, Roddy Piper-style with a flurry of rights and lefts!
After a struggle in the middle of the ring, Ambrose finally was able to hit Dirty Deeds and score the pinfall!
Y2J threw a temper tantrum after the match totally unbecoming of a WWE legend.

Travis’ Thoughts: Decent match, but I expected more out of these two. It just didn’t seem to have much energy, and that may be because of the poor storyline support. What was this feud about again? Hopefully this is the last we’ll see of it.
