2. John Cena vs Kevin Owens – Money In The Bank 2015

When Kevin Owens burst onto the main roster in May of 2015, the expectations for him were extremely high.  His popularity and credibility then went through the roof when he pinned The Invincible Man, John Cena, cleanly at The Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in an outstanding battle.  So when the rematch between the two was set for the Money In  The Bank, it seemed as if KO had officially arrived and a win would most likely propel him into the world title scene.  Well, unfortunately (and not surprisingly) Owens came up short against Cena but the match itself was nothing short of inspiring.

Much like their first encounter this match had a ton of back and forth action and it seemed more like a continuation of the last match as opposed to a new one.  The moves that worked the first time around did not this time as many were perfectly countered by each man.  And of course like any Cena match, there were a number of close 3 counts (marks like me even thought Owens had the win a few times).

The fairy tale for KO fans officially ended a month later when Cena submitted Owens at Battleground.  Owens went on to continued success but for the Intercontinental title as opposed to the world title like many were hoping.  Cena suffered a shoulder injury that sidelined him for the better part of a year.  Something tells me these two will meet up again in the future and if they can recreate what they did through the Summer of 2015, we’re in for a real treat,
