2. Bray Wyatt

Let’s be honest; characters like Bray Wyatt are really tough to book. He’s a unique talent, a big guy with incredible mic skills and athletic ability, but Wyatt’s persona is also wildly unpredictable. Book these kinds of acts wrong and they come off as terminally random, and audiences will fail to connect with them. But these superstars also need to maintain an air of mystery about them that is intimidating.

John Cena doesn’t do intimidation.

When the feud between Wyatt and Cena began, it was set up perfectly. Cena is the ultimate WWE hero, the Superman of professional wrestling. Wyatt believed that Cena was a phony and his heroic act merely a facade. He believed there was a monster within Cena dying to get out. Nobody believed that crap for a second. Why not? Because Cena was unconvincing in making us believe it.

It didn’t help that Cena decimated the entire Wyatt Family in the process, and then went on to handily defeat Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania XXX. The only way Wyatt was able to beat Cena was at Extreme Rules….with the help of a child. A demon child. Yeah, that didn’t do him any good.  The feud ended with Wyatt being literally buried underneath random WWE equipment at the Payback PPV. I know professional wrestling storylines aren’t supposed to be complicated, but do they have to be so on-the-nose, as well? Sheesh?
