What happened on TNA’s semi-live episode of Impact Wrestling?

On Tuesday night, the semi-live episode of Impact Wrestling took place. This comes two nights after the TNA Slammiversary pay-per-view.

This episode was supposed to begin at 9:00 PM ET on Pop TV, but major technical difficulties caused a 110-minute delay. The action would begin at 10:50 PM ET.

Lashley Promo

Lashley says he told everyone he would be the TNA World Heavyweight Champion and proved it at Slammiversary. He says he’s better than everyone in the wrestling business. Lashley talks about the Gold Rush and how no one wants to face him.

Ethan Carter III interrupts. He challenges Lashley for the belt tonight. Lashley says EC3 isn’t ready to face him.

Drew Galloway interrupts. He says he’s still standing from their match. Galloway tells EC3 to get to the back of the line, and wants a shot at the title. Galloway says they went to war and while he got beaten, he didn’t get broken. Lashley says everyone knows he’s better than Galloway. The Scotsman says he is using his rematch clause tonight for the title.

TNA King of the Mountain Championship Match
Eli Drake (c) vs. Jeff Hardy

Result: Match ends in a disqualification.

After Jeff Hardy hit a Swanton on Eli Drake, Matt Hardy interfered by biting referee Earl Hebner’s hand. This caused a disqualification.

Drew Galloway and Ethan Carter III Backstage

EC3 asks if going for the rematch is too soon. Galloway says no, but he’s in pain, and knows Lashley’s weakness. Galloway says EC3 will get his title shot against him, one day.

Jeff Hardy Promo

Hardy says he hoped to put an end to his brotherly feud, but it hasn’t gone through Matt’s skull. Hardy says he wants to end this tonight and tells Matt to come out. Matt appears on the side of the arena. Jeff says Matt ruined his chances of being KOTM champion. Matt says Jeff tried to end him, but he came back stronger than ever. Jeff says he doesn’t want to see this bull go on. Matt says the war is far from over.

Jeff says he will end Matt again and goes after him with a table. Matt tells him to put the table down and fight with honor. They brawl on the steps but Reby comes up and sprays Jeff with a fire extinguisher. Matt slides Jeff down a rail and into a table.

Matt Hardy Backstage

Matt says this isn’t over. He says next week, he will get his revenge in Six Sides of Steel.

TNA X Division Championship Match
Eddie Edwards (c) vs. Trevor Lee

Result: Eddie Edwards defeated Trevor Lee via pinfall to retain the TNA X Division Championship.

Edwards hit the Boston Knee Party on Lee for the win shortly after taking out GS Helms at ringside.

Lashley and Ethan Carter III Backstage

EC3 says he’s done playing games. Lashley says EC3 tried getting into Galloway’s head. EC3 says he wants the title and doesn’t matter who has it. Lashley tells EC3 to watch what he does to Drew tonight.

TNA Hall of Fame Inductee Announcement

TNA President announces Gail Kim as the next TNA Hall of Fame inductee. Kim says she’s humbled and appreciative of being given the opportunity to perform in the ring. She gets congratulated by everyone from the roster on the stage.

Marti Bell Interview

Marti says she doesn’t want to talk about The Dollhouse. She says so many members were in the group and it was about her and Jade. Marti says Jade threw it away by leaving her side with the TNA Knockouts Championship. Jade comes up and they start brawling.

TNA World Tag Team Championship Match
Decay (c) vs. Grado and Mahabali Shera vs. Bro-Mans vs. Tribunal

Result: Decay defeated Grado and Mahabali Shera, Bro-Man and Tribunal via pinfall to retain the TNA World Tag Team Championships.

Maria and Mike Bennett Backstage

Maria says TNA doesn’t appreciate what they have in her and Mike. Bennett agrees. Maria says they are going to the ring now to get what they want.

Jeff Hardy Backstage

Jeff says Matt wants crazy and will get it. Jeff says he will see Matt inside the cage.

Maria and Mike Bennett Promo

Bennett says everyone doesn’t understand that however much he tries to be a hero, he doesn’t get appreciated. Maria says Bennett was destined to be a superstar from the moment he stepped into a ring. Maria says they came here to save TNA and it’s a travesty that Bennett lost to Ethan Carter III.

Billy Corgan comes out. Maria says he can help out The Miracle. Corgan says they’re the future of the company, but they can set up a meeting to air grievances. Bennett gets mad and says he doesn’t do meetings. Maria asks for Dixie Carter to come out.

Maria starts boasting about what she’s in TNA for. Dixie tells her to shut up and says Maria is wasting precious moments while everyone should be wrestling. Dixie says Maria has had no matches since coming to TNA. Dixie tells Maria to send an email and set up a meeting. Maria says Dixie is the problem and Maria says she can run TNA better.

Dixie says Maria is self-absorbed and shouldn’t be running the Knockouts division. Maria says she is a self-made woman and the First Lady of Professional Wrestling. She calls Dixie the second-best and Dixie slaps her.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match
Lashley (c) vs. Drew Galloway

Result: Lashley defeated Drew Galloway via submission.

Toward the end of the match, the referee took in inadvertent Claymore Kick from Galloway. This lead to Lashley spearing Galloway. Lashley hit a second spear.

Lashley brought out a chair but Ethan Carter III, who was on commentary, stopped this. EC3 brought back the chair but accidentally hit Galloway. Lashley speared EC3. Lashley put on a submission maneuver on Galloway and won.

Final Thoughts

This episode of Impact Wrestling saw interesting storyline advancement.

It would seem the Hardy feud is coming to an end with next Tuesday’s Six Sides of Steel Match. Given that this did not conclude after Full Metal Mayhem, however, then this may not be the case.

The world title scene got interesting too. Galloway is seemingly out of the picture, but now has a bone to pick with EC3 after the inadvertent chair shot. What could happen between these two? Who will challenge Lashley next?
