After five years away from the octagon, Brock Lesnar returned at UFC 200 to take on Mark Hunt. Who came out the victor?

It’s fair to say the road to UFC 200 has been a rocky one, with main events switching almost by the day. Initially, Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor was slotted as the top fight, before Connor thought he could strong arm the UFC with some pre-fight demands. Well, he gambled and lost, getting tossed off the card entirely. Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier were next in line for the main event before Jones was popped for a doping violation by the USADA, thus cancelling that match, although, Anderson Silva stepped up to take on Cormier in Jones’ absence.

Suddenly, Brock Lesnar vs. Mark Hunt was at the top of the card – for about a day – before being moved down to “Co-Main Event” with Bantamweight Champion, Miesha Tate taking on Amanda Nunes becoming the new, and final, main event fight.

Brock is looking for a big win to help bring momentum towards WWE’s SummerSlam PPV, when he takes on Randy Orton. Was he able to overcome Hunt’s knockout power? Let’s find out!

Before things get going, we see Brock Lesnar warming up in the back.

Rather than his usual WWE entrance theme, Brock came to the octagon to Metallica’s “Sandman.”

Round 1

Feeling out process to start the fight, lasting just over a minute before Brock goes for a leg kick. Both men swing for the fence, missing on their first attempts.

Lesnar finally shoots on Hunt, chasing him to the cage, Hunt tries to grab the cage (his hand is knocked away by the ref), Lesnar brings him down momentarily. Brock continues to work the legs until he brings Hunt down again, gaining side control.

Brock gets Hunt in a bad spot, landing some huge blows, Hunt manages to escape, but is slammed right back down to the mat. He is able to survive the round, which was dominated by Lesnar.

Round 2

Slow first minute as Hunt tries to throw more bombs at Lesnar, unable to connect. Brock seems to be slowing down this round, going for multiple takedowns, missing each time. The pace has slowed down considerably this round, Brock looks almost tired as the round is half over.

Hunt has been stalking Brock for most of the round, without dishing out much damage thus far. With under a minute to go, Brock tries again to bring Hunt down, but is unsuccessful yet again, very slow round.

Round 3

Single leg takedown by Brock, this time taking Hunt down, he instantly starts throwing left hands to the face and body. Hunt is in a tough spot with all of Lesnar’s weight on him, he tries to punch back, but continues to get popped in the face over and over again.

With two minutes left, the ground and pound continues, as Hunt has pretty much no answer to the size and power of “The Beast.” More punches rain down as the round comes to an end.

Brock Lesnar wins via Unanimous Decision (29-27)
