Enzo Amore and Big Cass Are the Key to Reviving WWE’s Tag Division

Enzo Amore and Big Cass have been one of the most entertaining tag teams the WWE has seen in a long time, and the duo’s popularity with fans can help the WWE revive it’s tag division. 

Enzo Amore and Big Cass are quite unlike any other tag team currently on the roster. The duo never had to earn support from the fans. From the moment they made their debut on Raw, Enzo and Cass were extremely over with the crowd.

Even though Enzo and Cass were popular on NXT, no one could have predicted how well received the duo were going to be on the main roster. It’s been over three months since their debut and fans still can’t get enough of the self-proclaimed “Realest Guys in the Room.”

With the upcoming WWE Draft set to take place live on SmackDown on July 19, the future of the tag team division is uncertain. Current WWE Tag Team Champions, The New Day, seem to be headed toward a breakup and will likely drop the titles to The Wyatt Family in the near future.

During The New Day’s two reigns as champions, they knocked off basically every tag team in the division including Enzo and Cass, The Club and The Lucha Dragons. Now that a breakup seems imminent for The New Day, the WWE will need a new team to lead the tag team division after the draft. This team should be Enzo and Cass.

While The Wyatt Family will likely win the titles from The New Day, they shouldn’t be the team to lead the division into the future. The Wyatt Family work better when Bray Wyatt takes the lead in feuds and the other members serve as muscle. A feud between The Club and The Wyatt Family would be a much better booking decision for the WWE moving forward.

The smart move now would be for the WWE to capitalize on the current popularity of Enzo and Cass and make them the WWE Tag Team Champions. The duo is red-hot right now and are talented enough to carry feuds inside the ring and on the microphone.

Enzo and Cass’ popularity with fans could also be an important asset for the WWE moving forward. With The New Day all but over, the tag team division is left with a small number of teams that are tag team championship caliber.

Teams like the Golden Truth, Breezango, The Vaudevillains and The Social Outcasts will likely never be contenders for the tag team titles. So we’re left with only a handful of credible title contenders and a bunch of teams that never win matches.

The WWE can fix this problem with the upcoming draft and help from Enzo and Cass. Through the draft, the WWE can call up popular tag teams from NXT like The Revival and American Alpha, to the main roster.

Once these teams are on the main roster, the WWE can have them go up against Enzo and Cass. The duo’s popularity as faces can help put over new teams as heels. Feuds with teams from NXT can also work because they’ve faced Enzo and Cass before.

Both The Revival and American Alpha have clean wins over Enzo and Cass in NXT. The WWE could use this for a storyline and have Enzo and Cass eventually drop the tag titles to either team.

Part of what makes Enzo and Cass special is that they don’t need to be champions to be over with the crowd. This popularity with fans makes the duo a valuable asset to the WWE because they can afford to lose a few matches and can help propel new talent to the top without the fear of being buried.

With the future of the tag team division unclear, the WWE should capitalize on the popularity of Enzo and Cass and make them the next tag team champions. The duo is currently the hottest team on the roster and are the best choice to lead the tag division after the brand split.
