WWE Battleground 2016: Predictions

Singles Match:
Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens

In what has been built up as a final match between these two in a feud that has lasted over a year when Kevin Owens entered NXT these two competitors who were both drafted to Raw may put on what could be the match of the night and steal the show.

I was really surprised to see both Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens both remain on Raw after the draft was completed.  With both of these guys set to become main event talent, I thought it would be much better to see them on separate brands in order to maintain that separation.

However, it is also possible that down the road Kevin Owens could possibly become a modern version of the anti-hero face that Stone Cold was in the Attitude Era.  In that case, both of them on the same show could work without them continuing to bump heads as they both try to gain ground towards the main event on the Raw roster.

This is a very difficult match to predict.  Kevin Owens is definitely a future main eventer star in the company, so he should have the edge.  However, it is time Sami Zayn gets his payback for all the titles and opportunities that Kevin Owens has cost him over the past year.

Regardless who wins, it should be one extremely excellent match.

Prediction: Sami Zayn (and the fans) wins.
